Researching with QR codes

Today the children were able to pick a topic to research and then write an opinion piece of writing.  Most of them decided to write about why we should have a hamster as a class pet!  Below are some photos of the research portion using QR codes and the iPads.

STEAM PALS AND ROLLER COASTERS

Today we met with our STEAM PALS after taking last week off.  This month is National Engineering Month.  Ms. Parks read the kids a book about roller coasters and then we watched a video clip about G Forces and roller coasters.

 The kids were then given some supplies and some tasks to simulate a roller coaster.  Next week the engineering continues!

We have 10 BLT Badgers in our classroom!  I am so proud of these students.  They work hard and show respect across the building.  Way to go 2nd graders!
